JD Caceres

Abstract Expressionist

In 2009, before a family member’s house was to be torn down, Jose Caceres’ wife had a spontaneous idea—gather the rest of the family, and have some fun by painting the walls of the house together. They painted over the ten months prior to demolition, covering each white space of the 10,000 sq. foot house with doodles and murals. It was then, by chance, that Jose began to exhibit some remarkable talent. In a short period, he covered more walls than anyone, creating original images at the spur of the moment simply from his imagination. Everyone, including Jose himself, wouldn’t have guessed that this would open such a door, igniting a passion for art.

“As he transports you to the depths of love, indulge in the fundamental and powerful beauty of JDCaceres's artwork. His captivating series captures the mysterious profound emotion through the use of the heart symbol on canvas. As an alternative to defining a precise definition of love, JDCaceres centers on analyzing the consequences of our actions and the manners in which we occasionally disregard the emotional. Anticipates to be deeply moved and enlightened by the distinct views and interpretations he offers.

Caceres uses a dripping technique using acrylic and enamel paint to create intricate patterns that symbolize the weight and intricacy of the human mind and psyche. The surface is adorned with layers of paint, sometimes mixed with modeling paste, or combined with grotesque paper-mache figures emerging from the backdrop. Caceres' depictions of hearts and brains depict them as damaged organs, toughened by a lifetime of neglect and self-inflicted harm.” - Agora Gallery
